The world of work in 2026

We were going to produce a report on trends in the world of work for 2026, but we realised we could do something more interesting for our times. We carried out a FACT-CHECK on some 2025 headlines about the world of work. In Spain, are these headlines a reality, or will they become one?

We were going to produce a trends report on the world of work for 2026, but we decided to change our approach: amidst so much noise, so much information and so many forecasts, we decided to focus on verifying what is actually happening in Spain. This report is a fact-check of ideas, data and claims that have circulated in headlines in Spain during 2025, as well as in our day-to-day work on projects and in conversations.

We examine evidence on AI, productivity and automation, leadership, teamwork, the hybrid model, sustainability, wellbeing, and diversity and intergenerational dynamics within work teams. We do this based on data, but without a single answer: the impact varies depending on the region, sector, timing and culture of each organisation. Our aim is to distinguish trends from reality and provide an actionable insight into what is already transforming work in Spain.
