Challenge

In 2024, Commerzbank set out to evolve from New Work to Future Work. The aim was to design a holistic working environment that not only delivered a strong employee experience and reflected the brand identity, but also ensured the efficient, effective and flexible use of the building’s resources.

Our approach

BICG conducted interviews with managers and experts, as well as workshops with users, to explore visions of Future Work, current ways of working and the configuration of spaces. The insights gained formed the basis for the Future Work strategy and functional framework. Key elements were implemented in a pilot area so that employees could test and evaluate them, thereby supporting the strategy’s ongoing development.

Generated impact

The pilot scheme enabled employees to experiment with new concepts of space and usage, contribute their ideas and actively participate in ongoing development. The feedback gathered is being used in the planning of the new building, forming a key foundation for the workplace of the future. In this way, employees are helping to create their workplace of tomorrow, progressively bringing the Future Work vision to life.
