Let's Talk

This template provides a structured yet flexible framework that ensures both personal and professional development are addressed, enabling a comprehensive and productive conversation during each session.

General structure of the template:

1. Introduction: Personal and professional review
Start the session by reviewing the employee’s current situation. This section invites team members to reflect on:
– What they have achieved.
– Areas where they could improve.
– What they wish to learn or develop next.

This introduction sets the tone for a balanced conversation with the employee, providing an insight into their mindset and aspirations.

2. Review of current tasks and objectives
Managers and employees review the progress of current tasks and objectives, marking them as ‘done’, ‘partially done’ or ‘not yet started’. This assessment ensures that progress is tracked and areas requiring further attention are identified.

3. Preview of future tasks and objectives
Upcoming responsibilities, objectives and deliverables are outlined and discussed here. This section provides clarity on priorities and defines the way forward.

4. Performance review
To initiate an open dialogue on performance, employees describe their performance using three key words. This serves as a basis for a deeper conversation about strengths, challenges and areas for growth.

5. 360° Feedback Space
The final section is dedicated to two-way feedback. Employees are encouraged to share:
– What inspires them about their manager.
– What additional support or guidance would help them achieve better results.
– Commitments for the next session.

In this way, we ensure that feedback is constructive and promotes the continuous development of both the manager and the employee.

Thanks to these five simple steps, you can foster more effective two-way communication and provide actionable feedback. This structured approach will help you track progress, address challenges and inspire continuous improvement.
